GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a 14 percent drop in traffic deaths statewide from 1,194 to 1,045 in 2024. The agency will boost education and publicity in rural Middle Tennessee, where deaths fell from 268 to 255 due to lower speeds and increased patrols. NewsChannel 5
- ➤ TDOT will install stop signs on Rossview Road at the Rollow Lane intersection on January 19, with message boards set to update drivers. The change follows a traffic study and is supported by $42 million in grants to improve pedestrian, biker and transit safety — a statewide effort. WSMV 4
