- ➤ A free Community Lacrosse Clinic is scheduled for Jan. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. at APSU Jenkins Family Field House—hosted by local lacrosse clubs—to offer youth and families a chance to learn the sport’s basic skills and encourage teamwork. ClarksvilleNow.com
- ➤ Montgomery County held its first ever BBQ Fest Across the River at RichEllen Park with 20 teams cooking chicken, pork, ribs and brisket. Montgomery County Parks and Recreation partnered with the Tri-County Sportsmen Association and local sponsors for the two day festival. Clarksville Online

- ➤ Clarksville Gas and Water Department announced water main replacement on College Street beginning Monday, Jan. 5 at 7:00 p.m. causing water service to be off from Kraft Street to 1362 College Street and a northbound lane closure at 7:00 a.m., with work set to finish by Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 6:00 a.m. Clarksville Online
- ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has closed Maple Lane from Claridge Drive to East Porters Bluff Road for water main maintenance — detours are provided on Claridge Drive and East Porters Bluff and work is expected to finish by 5:30 p.m. today. Clarksville Online
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Flu cases in Tennessee are very high as health officials (per CDC) report outpatient visits nearly doubling from 3.7% to 6.5% on Dec. 20, with a baseline of 3.1%; residents should get a flu shot, wash hands, and stay home if sick. The Leaf Chronicle
- ➤ The Tennessee Health Department released December restaurant inspection scores for Clarksville today; most restaurants earned scores from 85 to 100 while establishments scoring below 80 have expanded reports for further review. Main Street Clarksville

- ➤ APSU women’s basketball players Anovia Sheals and Jim’Miyah Branton earned ASUN weekly awards after strong performances last week. They will play North Florida today at 1:00 p.m. in Jacksonville. Clarksville Online
