- ➤ American Legion Post 289 is hosting a Four Chaplains Interfaith Memorial Service on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Sykes Funeral Home at 424 Franklin Street in Clarksville. - ➤ Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites residents to join the annual Polar Bear Plunge at New Providence Pool on Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to raise funds for inclusive swim lessons. - ➤ The City of Clarksville has more than 30 trucks and 70 workers ready to clear 700 miles of streets as heavy snowfall is forecast to begin late Friday evening and continue through the weekend — Mayor Joe Pitts urges residents to avoid parking on city streets and restrict travel. - ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department is repairing a water main on Power Street, turning off water from Cedar Street to New Providence Boulevard and closing Power Street from Cedar to Walnut until the repair is complete. Motorists will follow a detour via Cedar + Walnut, and work is expected to finish by 3:30 p.m. Clarksville Online
