- ➤ APSU teacher candidates achieved Tennessee’s top first-time pass rate on a literacy assessment, scoring 3% above the next high achiever, thanks to a redesigned course that separates reading skills into focused modules (with hands-on activities that mirror classroom teaching) at the Eriksson College of Education. - ➤ Tennessee lawmakers will debate a bill on Tuesday, Feb. 11 that would raise the state minimum wage from $7.25 to $20 an hour and require overtime pay to be at least 1.5 times the regular rate— the proposal aims to change wage standards across the state. WSMV 4
- ➤ The Clarksville Police Department hired Katie Kastle as a second full-time wellness counselor on Jan. 26.
