- ➤ Last Saturday, more than 30 costume-clad participants plunged into chilly water at New Providence Pool to raise funds for free swim lessons and the S.P.A.R.K. Scholarship program. - ➤ Applebee's announced that it will close restaurants in Missouri, Indiana, and New York in 2026 — none of its 28 Tennessee locations will close at this time — and the chain said further closures may occur later. The company earned $445.6 million in early 2025. The Leaf Chronicle

- ➤ A Rossview High School teacher resigned on Feb. 20 after disciplinary action for written notes and a Twitch video that used harsh language about students — leaving her teaching job amid controversy. - ➤ Austin Peay State University's Southeastern Grasslands Institute received a $10M grant to restore 2,500 acres of grasslands over four years in central Tennessee. - ➤ CVS is asking Tennessee lawmakers to reject Senate Bill 2040, claiming it would close 134 pharmacies, cost thousands of jobs, and force 500 patients to lose care providers. - ➤ Through April, Visit Clarksville will host sporting events that are expected to draw over 23,000 athletes, coaches, and fans to the area and generate up to $12 million in spending — key competitions include today’s ACO Cornhole Major at F and M Bank Arena and state tournaments later this month.
