  • APSU junior Katherine Lehtola is gaining real-world skills through a revised Zone 3 internship that has her reading submissions for a student-run literary journal and planning a three-day Zone 3 Writers’ Festival on campus from April 10th to April 12th — an experience that supports her career goals. The program, backed by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, teaches students teamwork, communication, and event coordination for future opportunities.  ClarksvilleNow.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Clarksville Gas and Water Department closed the northbound lane on Sango Road from Amblewood Way to Robercrest Road for water main leak repair — alternating traffic lanes are in place and motorists are asked to slow down in the work zone, with repairs expected to finish and the lane reopening by 3:30 p.m.  Clarksville Online
  • Tennessee lawmakers passed bills to extend protections for illegal photography victims, ban cellphones during class, fund Hurricane Helene relief, and create a statewide school voucher program—while they continue to debate proposals on immigration checks, driver’s license tests, and a 10% tax on vape products.   • Montgomery County Health Department was named an Advanced Age-Friendly Public Health System by the Trust for America’s Health at an event that brought health and education experts together.
