  • Little boys and girls enjoyed a dress-up party and dancing at the Preschool Prom Masquerade Ball at Crow Recreation Center on March 22—organized by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • City Parks and Recreation installed two new playgrounds at Dixon Park and Billy Dunlop Park and is building one at Swan Lake Athletic Complex while planning a new playground at Ewing Burchett Park this summer—each playground offers a unique theme and accessible design. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On March 6 at about 12:15 a.m., a fire on Lakeshore Drive in Stewart County nearly cost retired Navy veteran Brian Hlynosky his life until his 17-year-old daughter Abbi quickly woke him and saved him and two of their three dogs—though one dog was lost—and while the blaze destroyed all their belongings and vehicles, they are insured and will rebuild with local help and a fundraiser at Midway Pizza on Sunday, March 30.  ClarksvilleNow.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Clarksville Police arrested 33-year-old Jassim Al-Robaie and 31-year-old Karlie Jade Parks in Antioch on March 20 in connection with the March 15 stabbing death of Thomas Gray Jr., 54, at Campville Mobile Home Park where he was found bleeding beside a running vehicle at about 2 a.m.—detectives from the Special Operations Homicide Unit and Metro Nashville’s TITANS Unit booked the suspects early Friday and the investigation remains active.  Main Street Clarksville

HEALTH NEWS

  • Spc. Jackson Wilson from Fort Campbell survived a suicide attempt on October 15th, 2024 at 8:37 a.m. + a friend’s quick help, he now speaks at suicide prevention training to help fellow soldiers. He urges any soldier in need to reach out to their command for help + a message that personal support can save lives.  Clarksville Online

  • The Tennessee Lady Vols played against Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament second round on March 23 at 8 p.m. on ESPN—following a 101-66 win over South Florida, they aimed to return to the Sweet 16.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • The APSU track and field team earned two third-place finishes at Georgia Tech’s Yellow Jacket Invitational at George C. Griffin Track in Atlanta on Saturday, with Madelyn Kocik’s 11.85-meter triple jump + the 4x400 relay team reaching the podium while several athletes set personal records in the high jump, discus, and sprints. The team will compete at Alabama-Birmingham’s Spring Invitational on March 28th-29th to build on their strong performance.  Clarksville Online
