ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On March 19th, strong winds in Clarksville caused a tree to fall on a home in St. Bethlehem, and a 15 year old saved his three siblings from injury by catching falling debris—leaving the family homeless as repairs are unlikely.  ClarksvilleNow.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee House passed House Bill 1038 that would make juvenile records of deceased school shooters public after a deadly shooting at Antioch High School. The bill passed with strong support (vote 88 to 4) and goes to the Senate (lawmakers will work out differences) for further action.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • Aircrew from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade flew the new CH-47F Block II Chinook (still in development) last year and gave feedback to improve safety and lifting power. Army officials said the program will complete requirements (by 2025) so that the upgraded helicopter can move more soldiers and equipment at Fort Campbell.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Clarksville City Council will meet in Executive Session on Thursday, March 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the basement meeting room of the Regional Planning Commission at 329 Main St — unforeseen equipment issues forced the change — and regular sessions will resume at the Council Chambers on Thursday, April 3.  ClarksvilleNow.com

  • Blanchfield Army Community Hospital now offers Scheduled Virtual Visits to help Soldiers get care without leaving their routine.   • Today the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association released its first statewide poll for the 2025 TSSAA season, ranking the top 10 teams in each of six classifications (from Class 1A to Division II-AA) as high school baseball continues in full swing.  The Leaf Chronicle
