COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Montgomery County is celebrating spring with many events planned for all ages—these include a live music show at Beachaven Vineyards on March 29, a MercyMe concert at F&M Bank Arena, a downtown art walk on April 3, and an Easter Egg Hunt on April 12. CULTURE NEWS

  • A MercyMe concert with Zach Williams and guest Sam Wesley will take place on Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. at F&M Bank Arena with tickets at $95 while a free Joel Nulty concert at Beachaven Vineyards and a writers symposium at the library are set from 2-5 p.m.; a free book signing event with guest speakers and a performance by the Dagan family will be held on Sunday, March 30 from 3-7 p.m.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Clarksville’s Customs House Museum in Historic Downtown will host many exhibits and events in April—showcasing art, history, and interactive programs from school tours to workshops, including a First Thursday Art Walk on April 3rd and a Spring Pottery Sale ending April 30th.   • APSU’s GIS Center and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics signed a 10-year agreement with Fort Campbell to study how the base will affect local jobs, tax revenue, and construction contracts.   • The City of Clarksville Street Department will begin its annual spring cleanup on Monday, March 31 through Monday, May 12 — offering free yard waste removal for residents with strict guidelines limiting pick up to normal yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves and limbs.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Today, the Tennessee Senate passed SJR001 which will amend the state constitution to ban statewide property taxes. The measure required a two-thirds vote and—if approved by voters—will appear on the 2026 ballot.  WGNS
  • Today, the Clarksville Gas and Water Department closed the southbound lane on McMahan Hollow Road from 4307 McMahan Hollow Road to Highway 41A for gas line maintenance—alternating lanes guide traffic. The work is expected to finish by 5:00 p.m. as motorists are urged to slow down near the work zone.  Clarksville Online

  • Three Clarksville-area athletes from Kirkwood High and Rossview High signed letters of intent Tuesday to play college baseball at Bethel University.   • Clarksville Academy senior outfielder Brennan Gibson was named Clarksville Now Player of the Week after posting an .800 batting average last week during wins over West Creek, Kirkwood and Montgomery Central High.
