- ➤ A free Arts Build Communities grant workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th at 4:00 p.m. at the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library and is hosted by Dr. Ellen Kanervo of the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council to guide applicants interested in securing up to $5,000 for community arts projects. - ➤ The National Weather Service warns that severe storms will hit Middle Tennessee Wednesday night with damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes plus heavy rain that could cause flooding. - ➤ Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Brook Mead Drive — from Parrot Drive to Sarah Elizabeth Drive — for a water main leak repair that may lower water pressure for nearby residents. The repair is set to finish and service will resume by about 5:00 p.m. today. Clarksville Online
- ➤ Tennessee lawmakers are proposing bills to end DEI hiring programs in local governments and public colleges, saying employees should be chosen on merit — Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson and Rep. Aron Maberry lead the push. A related measure would remove racial quotas from state boards to give the governor more freedom in appointments. The Leaf Chronicle
- ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department is replacing water valves and fire hydrants today and April 2 starting at 8:00 a.m. on McCann Drive, Hayden Drive and Country Club Drive—low water pressure is expected during the work.
