- ➤ Today, the 64th Mid-South Jazz Festival begins at APSU with free shows by the Faculty Jazz Quintet and Collegians at 7:30 p.m., and free performances continue on Friday. On Saturday, the internationally renowned Bobby Watson Group will headline at 7:30 p.m.—attendees are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 p.m. for a pre-concert talk by local jazz musicians. - ➤ The Montgomery County Highway Department is monitoring severe weather from April 2 to April 5 that may drop up to 10 inches of rain and cause road flooding on spots like International Boulevard + Kirkwood Road; water levels have stayed high since unusual February rains and crews have cleared culverts and bridges to let water flow freely. - ➤ Governor Bill Lee signed the Voyeurism Victims Act that gives victims more time to press charges when someone secretly records them in places they expect privacy. The law goes into effect July 1 (it comes from a case last November with Matthew Vollmer who used a hidden camera) and changes the start of the time limit to when victims learn of the crime.
