  • The Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum in Clarksville is set to open May 16 — a future addition to the nation’s Army-museum enterprise that will display exhibits honoring service members’ legacy.  Clarksville Online

  • According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.5% in January, matching last year’s rate and beating the national 4.3% rate. Employers added nearly 6,000 nonfarm jobs over the past year, with gains seen in healthcare and state government.  Clarksville Online

  • Residents near Fox Trail Court have dealt with property damage from beaver-built dams that caused flooded drainage (with stagnant water, mosquitos, and a sewage-like odor) and stressed local pets. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency announced that the statewide turkey hunting season will open on Saturday, Apr. 11 and run through May 24 in all 95 counties — with restrictions on some public land.   • APSU’s men’s golf team will compete today and Tuesday at The Racer Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky - the 14-team field starts with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun round.  Clarksville Online
  • The Nashville Sounds rallied late to beat the Charlotte Knights 7-5 with a four-run eighth inning that clinched the series at First Horizon Park. They plan to travel to Gwinnett for a six-game series tomorrow, April 7th, after taking an off-day today.  Clarksville Online
