  • On March 15, police discovered Thomas Birk Gray Jr. fatally stabbed at a mobile home park after an ambush robbery and used surveillance video to identify and later arrest Jassim Al-Robaie and Karlie Jade Parks on March 21—both are now charged with homicide as the case is bound over to a grand jury.  ClarksvilleNow.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Community School of the Arts at APSU will offer a summer arts camp for children ages 8 to 15 to explore painting, ceramics, dance and theatre and design custom T-shirts; the day camps run from July 7th to 11th and July 14th to 18th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Registration is open now — groups are limited to 20 students per age group — with a $400 fee covering art supplies, lunches, snacks and swag as sessions are led by APSU professors and local artists.  Clarksville Online
  • APSU’s Zone 3 Press is hosting the inaugural Zone 3 Writers’ Festival on campus from today through April 12 to bring together writers from across the country. • Austin Peay State University Public History students are stepping out of the classroom by hosting free Downtown Walking Tours in Clarksville starting April 24. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Clarksville VA Clinic will host the 2025 Veterans Resources Exposition on Wednesday, April 23, from 4-6 p.m. at 782 Weatherly Drive. The free event will provide veterans, families and caregivers with information on VA programs like the PACT Act and the Caregiver Support Program and feature more than 20 community partners.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • School systems have arrested hundreds of students under a current felony law for making school threats, with some children as young as 7 being charged. A new state bill moving through the legislature would raise the threshold so that only students who knowingly and intentionally threaten mass violence face felony charges—this change would also extend the law to cover churches, government buildings and events and help keep children with developmental disabilities from being charged.  WKRN
