- ➤ Dawn S. Smith was named the new vice president of Marketing & Communications at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council. She began her role on April 6 and will lead efforts to boost business investment and economic growth in the region. Main Street Clarksville
- ➤ The 10th Mega Job Fair will take place at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15, where over 20 employers and resource agencies will help job seekers connect with new work opportunities. ClarksvilleNow.com
- ➤ Montgomery County's unemployment rate increased to 3.9 percent this January from 3.6 percent in December, according to data from TDLWD. Most counties saw a rise while Williamson County had the lowest rate at 2.7 percent. Clarksville Online

- ➤ APSU community grieves the loss of Professor Emeritus Dr. Solie Fott (dedicated educator and musician) who passed Monday, April 6 in his home. - ➤ Austin Peay State University named Dr. Robert Baron associate dean of its College of Arts & Letters effective Aug. 1. Baron has strengthened its communication programs since 2012 and will now oversee curriculum, accreditation, and adjunct onboarding. ClarksvilleNow.com
- ➤ APSU biology researchers and students are analyzing nine nearly complete skeletons and loose bones found in their lab that were likely collected unethically between the late 1800s and 1980s, and they will cremate and bury the remains at the university farm with respectful markers while preparing to publish their findings. - ➤ Tennessee’s rural clinics were targeted with nearly $207 million aimed at boosting workforce capacity, expanding telehealth, and improving preventive care. - ➤ The APSU women’s golf team rallied on Sunday at Miller Memorial Golf Course to win the Jan Weaver Invitational by erasing a 13-stroke deficit — Ella Arnzen and Jordin Cowing forced a playoff win over Murray State.
