EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clarksville Music and Arts Academy announced its summer camps for kids and teens ages 8 to 16 that offer week-long sessions in music, art, dance and acting.   • APSU approved a $51K investment on April 11th to launch a three-part AI training program for faculty, staff and students on campus. The program starts with instructor training and will include an AI symposium in October — a plan that meets Tennessee guidelines — to boost skills for future jobs.  Clarksville Online

HEALTH NEWS

  • Roger Pearson, a Clarksville resident, fell ill with traces of E. Coli after sewage flooded his home and backyard in early April when a nearby pump malfunctioned. He and his neighbors have asked for help as the city has yet to allocate emergency relief funds — while Montgomery County approved $500,000 for flood repairs in Farmington.  WSMV 4
  • Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Stroke Certification after a rigorous onsite review in March that tested its program management, community education and clinical care.   • The Clarksville Association of Realtors will host Fair Housing 2025, an event that offers education on housing topics such as the local rental market, tax relief programs, and housing assistance initiatives.   • The Austin Peay State University baseball team became the fastest in school history to reach 30 wins when they won a 7-6 game on Saturday in a sweep of Eastern Kentucky at Turkey Hughes Field—achieving the milestone in 40 games instead of the 41 it took in 1971. They will face Purdue on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Alexander Field—adding a key matchup to their season schedule.  Clarksville Online
  • The NFL Draft will start April 24 and the Titans are eyeing top college pass catchers based on The Tennessean’s rankings—Travis Hunter leads the list with strong ball skills and potential value.
