  • Phoenix Theatres will hold a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce on May 22 at 6 p.m.—the new theatre will open on May 23 at 9 a.m. for premieres of Walt Disney’s 'Lilo & Stitch' and Paramount’s 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.'  Main Street Clarksville

CRIME NEWS

  • One person died and three others were injured when a vehicle carrying five people overturned on Pollard Rd near Dublin Drive just before 6:20 p.m. Monday afternoon—one occupant was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene while one was flown to Nashville and two were taken to a local hospital.  WSMV 4
  • Clarksville Police are asking the public to help find 78-year-old Dickie Charles Smith, who was last seen April 28 at 9:30 a.m. at his home on Jenny Lane while driving his blue/silver 2015 Honda Accord with Tennessee plate DV26935—he later called friends at 1:30 p.m. saying he felt unwell as he headed back and his family notes he may have early-onset dementia.  Clarksville Online

  • Starting May 1st, Clarksville launches its Downtown ArtWalk—a month-long event featuring evening art shows from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at several venues, where local artists like Jaden Schumacher and Talia Arte will display their work.  Clarksville Online
  • Phoenix Theatres, a Michigan-based movie chain, will open its new location at Governor’s Square Mall with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. and will officially begin showing films—featuring Dolby ATMOS and heated reclining seats—on May 23rd at 9:00 a.m., with premieres of Walt Disney’s Lilo and Stitch and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning set to kick off the summer blockbuster season.  Clarksville Online

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting May 7, Tennesseans must use REAL ID—compliant driver's licenses or another federally issued photo ID to board domestic flights and enter federal facilities. Tennessee residents without a REAL ID may face delays at TSA checkpoints and long wait times for walk-in services if they choose to apply later.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department turned off water service on Gatlin Street for a water main leak repair and closed the road; the work affects Kingsbury Road and Kingsbury Court (motorists should detour via Ashland City Road and slow down for utility workers).  Clarksville Online
