ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Severe storms that rolled through overnight on April 27 into the early morning of April 28 caused widespread damage and power outages across Middle Tennessee; rescue units in Lawrence County responded to over 50 calls and two injuries while assessment teams checked reports of possible tornado activity.  The Leaf Chronicle

CULTURE NEWS

  • Roxy Regional Theatre in downtown Clarksville will stage The Music Man JR. on May 8 and Nunsense on June 19, with tickets on sale later this summer. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation will host its fourth annual Dash to Benefit 5K + Fun Run on May 2 to raise funds for local schools, with the 5K starting at 8:30 a.m. at Rossview Complex and packet pickup beginning at 7:15 a.m. at Rossview High School Football complex.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announced its Summer Youth Program will return this summer with a fee of $25 a week for each child.   • Austin Peay State University lacrosse freshman Fiona Lemke became the program's first player — earning postseason honors as an ASUN All-Freshman — when the league announced her selection Monday after she played all 17 games and scored 22 goals.  Clarksville Online
  • Hickman County High School junior Dan Gilbert, who was named to the 2025 Class A All-State boys golf team, finished as runner-up in the District 12-A boys singles tennis championships for the second time. He continues to build on his success in both golf and tennis.  Main Street Clarksville
  • Wildcats celebrated Senior Night with a flag football win over the Northeast Eagles Monday night at Hilda J.   • Former Clarksville Academy outfielder Brennen Gibson was named Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year at Freed-Hardeman University after earning first-team honors with a .400 average and strong RBI totals; his performance comes as the Lions, with a 32-15 record, prepare for tomorrow's tournament opener.  Main Street Clarksville
  • Rossview senior Jiyair Rose and Kirkwood junior Armani Smith earned all-state honors from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association this high school basketball season — with Rose leading a championship run and Smith named Kirkwood Player of the Year.
