  • The RJ Corman Bridge in downtown Clarksville will be lit green from May 4th through May 10th to honor Mental Health Awareness Month. Montgomery County Government will partner with Centerstone to raise awareness and support local mental health services.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • This weekend in Clarksville, the free MoCo Movie Nights will show Zootopia at RichEllen Park on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.—the annual Greenway 8K Race will run on Saturday at 10 a.m., and a Vintage Fair is scheduled at Beachaven Vineyards & Winery on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $7 admission for adults and free entry for children, while the monthly Sundays on Strawberry market features local artisans on the first Sunday of each month.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • On Saturday, April 26, the Office of the District Attorney General hosted the 16th annual Children’s Memorial Garden Remembrance Ceremony at Spur Line Trailhead in Downtown Clarksville—families and friends gathered to honor children lost to violence with remarks from District Attorney General Robert Nash and local law enforcement, while a grieving mother shared her story of loss.  Main Street Clarksville

  • On Tuesday morning at about 9:39 a.m., Clarksville police responded to a 911 call from a construction site on Old Russellville Pike where an argument between workers led to the stabbing death of 27-year-old Ivan Villa Contreras from Guthrie—24-year-old Cristian Noe Moreno-Hernandez from Springfield has been charged with homicide.  ClarksvilleNow.com

  • The Clarksville Police Department will host its annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on May 16 at 10:00 a.m. outside its headquarters (135 Commerce Street) in front of the Clarksville Protector statue (the event will be canceled if inclement weather occurs).  Clarksville Online
  • Austin Peay State University named Kristie Winters chief of police effective May 1 after a nationwide search by D. Stafford & Associates. Winters, a U.S. Army veteran with 17 years at APSU, is the first woman to lead the department and has earned strong campus support for her commitment to safety.  Main Street Clarksville

  • The Montgomery Central Indians traveled to West Creek High School on April 30 for a district championship game and clinched their berth in the first-ever TSSAA State Flag Football Tournament with a 13 to 0 win that ended West Creek's season.   • Austin Peay State University’s track team closes its outdoor season at Vanderbilt’s Music City Challenge in Nashville today, beginning with a javelin throw at 10 a.m.—on Saturday the team will compete in a hammer throw and run a 4x100 relay to finish the season.  Clarksville Online
