CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents in Clarksville have a busy weekend with an Addams Family musical playing today at Roxy Regional Theatre at 7 p.m., with ticket prices at $35 for adults and $15 for children, a Downtown Market opening Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 1 Market Square and MoCo Movie Nights screening Inside Out 2 on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A living history event called March to the Past will be held at Fort Defiance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—all events are free except for the musical.  ClarksvilleNow.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts has added about $1.3m in the proposed Parks and Rec budget to reopen the 112-year-old Mason Rudolph Golf Course, which has been closed except for the driving range—after years of uncertainty about its future. The reopening awaits City Council approval in June—and local golfers say the course is a vital, affordable place to practice.  NewsChannel 5
  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department is repairing a water main leak on Red Coat Run that affects Red Coat Run from Justice Drive to Independence Drive, Independence Drive and Justice Drive — residents may experience low water pressure until the repairs are finished. The department expects to restore water service by about 6:00 p.m. today.  Clarksville Online
  • Clarksville Gas and Water Department crews will begin sewer main line rehabilitation on Caldwell Lane, Edmondson Ferry Road, Pine Mountain Road, Shiloh Road, Ringgold Road, Fort Campbell Boulevard, Barker Street, and Madison Terrace from May 12th to May 16th — customer sewer service connections will be temporarily sealed so residents should limit water and toilet use to help the project — as part of its ongoing maintenance program.  Clarksville Online

  • Cross Creek Clays in Palmyra will host its 7th Annual Night Stalker and Legion Memorial Shoot from June 26th to 29th to honor elite military units—namely the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment known as the Night Stalkers and the 5th Special Forces Group. Former Night Stalker Joe Calabrace founded the event, which will raise funds for military charities.  Clarksville Online
  • APSU athlete Taylin Segree posted personal best times in the 400- and 200-meter races at the Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt and was named ASUN Freshman of the Week by the conference. She will compete at the ASUN Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Jacksonville from May 15th to May 17th—her strong season push continues.  Clarksville Online
