- ➤ The final event in America’s 250th birthday celebration is a concert by Cumberland Winds Concert Band, occurring June 26 at 7:30 p.m. (Ashland City Assemblies of God Church), June 28 at 4:30 p.m. (Grace Lutheran Church, Madison Street), and July 1 at 7:30 p.m. (First Presbyterian Church, Clarksville). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ APSU's first scholarship mascot, AJ Crowder, graduated today with a bachelor's degree in communication media after four years of energizing game days and winning collegiate mascot championships. The graduate plans to work in mascot and management roles for professional teams. WSMV 4
- ➤ Austin Peay State University’s 42nd Annual Candlelight Ball raised a record-breaking $423,615 for student scholarships and academic programs at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. - ➤ APSURA has boosted its scholarship fund so it now awards up to two scholarships annually to full-time APSU students who are dependents of current faculty or staff, with increased member contributions + eligibility requiring a 3.0 GPA and at least 45 semester hours. Clarksville Online

- ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department closed Highway Drive from Pageant Lane to Paradise Hill Road for natural gas line installation and detoured traffic via Pageant Lane and Paradise Hill Road until about 4:00 p.m., so motorists should use alternate routes today. Clarksville Online
- ➤ APSU hosted Serbian Ambassador Dragan Šutanovac from April 20-23 for a series of diplomatic engagements that included interviews, a public address in MUC 307, and a private dinner at General and Mrs. Lord's home in Clarksville. - ➤ Pearltown Life & Recovery Housing offers hope to individuals continuing their recovery by providing safe, supported living in Centerville. The men’s house, opened in April, charges $150 per week and gives residents a $50 food card to help with daily needs. Main Street Clarksville
