  • Manna Café Ministries hosted its annual gala—titled Sprouting Hope—at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, where local businesses led by F&M Bank supported its fight against hunger and Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts unveiled a street sign naming a stretch of road as Kenny York Memorial Way. CEO Vicki York thanked supporters for 15 years of service as the event moved from the fall schedule to the spring.  Main Street Clarksville

CULTURE NEWS

  • Since taking over the Lone Oak Picnic in 1975, the Central Civitan Club has kept a long-standing tradition alive in southern Montgomery County with an annual event held in late July that features smoked barbecue, live music and political speeches ahead of Election Day — the funds raised support local schools, volunteer fire departments and charities.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • This year’s Week of the Eagles features an air assault demonstration at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at the Sabalauski Air Assault School on Fort Campbell—immediately followed by a free concert by Andy Ross of American Rebel. EDUCATION NEWS

  • APSU School of Nursing will host two summer camps spanning four days—June 24 to 27 and July 8 to 11—for rising high school seniors and college freshmen to gain hands-on nursing training. The camps require a $100 fee covering supplies, certifications, lunch, and a VIP visit to Tennova Healthcare and are funded by grants from a local community health foundation to help address nursing shortages.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Nashville State Community College will offer in-person Paralegal Studies at the Clarksville campus starting Fall 2025 on August 25 — the program will also be available online after switching virtual during COVID-19. A Thursday schedule provides two back-to-back classes and a free lunch and learn event is planned on June 2 to help working students enter legal careers.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • TCAP reading scores for third graders were released yesterday under Tennessee's new reading law, starting a fast-moving timeline for retests and appeals to help students avoid retention. The retest window runs from today to May 30 and includes options like summer school and tutoring — final retention decisions will be announced in July.  The Leaf Chronicle

HEALTH NEWS

  • Centerstone will open a walk-in mental health crisis center in Clarksville in July to offer free care 24 hours a day using an urgent care model for mental health crises, letting patients stay up to 23 hours or even up to five days (supported by state grants and American Rescue Plan funds) and easing pressure on local law enforcement.  NewsChannel 5

  • APSU baseball beat North Florida 10 to 2 on Tuesday at Melching Field at Conrad Park with strong efforts from Lyndon Glidewell and Gus Freeman. The team will face Jacksonville on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.—their next game in the tournament.  Clarksville Online
