Good morning, Clarksville. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 25th of May.

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Tennessee charges a 7% state sales tax and a 2.25% single-article tax on new and used vehicles that can add nearly $4,600 to a new car and over $2,300 to a used one—even for cars bought out-of-state. This means drivers face one of the highest car sales tax rates in the nation and must consider these costs when budgeting for a vehicle.  The Leaf Chronicle

The $148.5M project will start with 44 inpatient beds, expand to 132 beds, and add about 250 healthcare jobs—residents can offer comments during a public hearing scheduled for July 25th.  Clarksville Online
