  • On Memorial Day, Clarksville residents gathered in local parks and neighborhoods to honor fallen service members and reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom—an observance that brought our community together.  Clarksville Online
  • On May 14, the Clarksville Civitan Club met at Hilldale United Methodist Church on Madison Street to honor community heroes, including retired Judge Wayne Shelton—who served for 50 years and received the Golden Circle Award. Mayor Wes Golden and club President Toni Jenkins led the award ceremonies that recognized local volunteers and groups like the Knights of Columbus and Team Red, White & Blue for their work in helping children, special needs individuals, and veterans.  Main Street Clarksville

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee House of Representatives honored Lee Erwin for his 50 years of radio broadcasting and service using his work with 5 Star Media Group and local organizations—Salvation Army, United Way, and Big Brothers and Sisters.   • At Fort Campbell a solemn Memorial Day ceremony took place at the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument as Maj. Gen. Brett Sylvia and former Delta Company soldiers laid a wreath to honor fallen service members. The tribute reminded Gold Star families that their loved ones are never forgotten—affirming the installation's commitment to remembering military sacrifice.  Clarksville Online
