CRIME NEWS

  • A local couple found their bookstore vandalized days before its opening when they saw foam from a fire extinguisher, scattered drinks, tools, and a hole in the wall, and Clarksville police arrived in less than two minutes—using two patrol cars—to secure the scene as the owners work to repair the damage and aim to open next Friday.  WKRN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Roof replacement work at City Hall will begin on June 18 as a result of hail damage from recent storms—city officials plan to change the shingled roof to a metal, standing seam roof to better protect the building. Materials will arrive on June 18 with construction starting on June 19 and lasting six weeks while the public uses the regular entrance.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order 109 to boost workforce development by directing the State Workforce Development Board to align education and training with employer needs—he signed the order with Tennessee Youth Employment Program students as the FY25-26 budget added $7 million to double program participation and support year-round operations.
