  • On Saturday, June 28, Fort Defiance in Clarksville will host Frontier Days from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Community members will participate in hands-on demonstrations including musket firing, axe throwing and cooking methods used in early settlement days.  WKRN

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The 101st Airborne Division said that Chief Warrant Officer 2 Dustin K. Wright died in an AH-64 Apache helicopter training accident at Fort Campbell on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.—another pilot was treated for minor injuries and released.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Chief Warrant Officer 2 Dustin K. Wright died in a helicopter training accident at Fort Campbell on Wednesday night and another pilot suffered minor injuries before being released from Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. The 101st Airborne Division is investigating the incident.  WSMV 4
  • Traffic on I-24 East in Clarksville was reduced to one lane after a two-vehicle crash at mile marker 8 on Friday at around 5:11 p.m.—emergency crews and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating the incident and reported injuries.  WSMV 4

CULTURE NEWS

  • Always… Patsy Cline will be a musical tribute playing at the Roxy Regional Theatre from June 20th through June 29th, featuring Allison Ann Kelly in the lead and local attorney Stacy Turner as Louise. Shows will run on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. with matinees on June 22nd, 28th, and 29th — tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or at the box office — and a rush sale will begin on June 20th.  Clarksville Online

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Altra Foundation awarded 17 high school seniors $1,000 each in Tom Brock Community Service scholarships to honor its first board chair—Tom Brock. The awards add to $180,000 in scholarships given since 2004 and support community service among students.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Austin Peay State University announced today that its 41st Annual Candlelight Ball raised a record $266,642 for student scholarships and academic programs at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. The event featured a Toyota RAV4 raffle that raised over $13,000 and honored Antonio Murgas and Jeff Truitt for their community contributions—demonstrating strong local support for the university.  Clarksville Online

  • The City of Clarksville will end DMV services at City Hall and the North Services Center on June 30 — the change comes nearly a month before the new state DMV facility on Hornbuckle Lane opens on July 28, with Mayor Joe Pitts saying the timing aligns with the fiscal year starting July 1.  ClarksvilleNow.com
