CRIME NEWS

  • Detectives from the Clarksville Police Department arrested 27-year-old Ralphale Armstrong after an altercation at Pinnacle Bowling Alley—he fled the scene, lost control of his vehicle and crashed with two juvenile passengers sustaining only minor injuries—and he now faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Vehicular Assault, DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container and Possession without a Prescription.  Clarksville Online

CULTURE NEWS

  • More than 100 delegates from Tennessee and Georgia will compete in the Miss Tennessee and Miss Georgia pageants on June 27th-28th at Austin Peay State University in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall — a venue that will welcome visitors from around the area. The Georgia preliminary show starts on June 27th at 3:00 p.m. with the Tennessee preliminary show at 8:00 p.m., and the final shows are scheduled for June 28th at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — tickets must be purchased online before the events.  Clarksville Online

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announced new administrative appointments effective June 5th—strengthening leadership for the 2025-26 school year—with Chris Jackson replacing retiring Building Maintenance Manager Kevin Scott while Dr. Kim Hass, Ashley Polk, and Christina Rogers join to boost academic support. These key changes reflect the district’s ongoing effort to promote experienced talent from within.  Clarksville Online

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montgomery County Commissioners approved the 2025-26 fiscal budget that gives a 2% raise to all county and school district workers while keeping property taxes at $2.10 per $100 of value. The budget also sets aside $2 million for fairgrounds and funds for school repairs, public safety, and flood relief—meant to keep the community safe and well maintained.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • On June 14 at Fort Campbell—an important place for local families—the Army celebrated its 250th birthday with an air assault demonstration, a ceremonial cake cutting using a 250-year-old sword, and a swearing-in ceremony for 20 future soldiers.
