ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 8:43 a.m. today, Clarksville Police responded to a crash on Highway 76 near South Gateway Plaza where a vehicle struck a motorcycle and the injured rider was taken by ambulance to a Nashville hospital while FACT is investigating—motorists are advised to use alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.  Clarksville Online

CRIME NEWS

  • Police found Steven Pierce, 46, and his wife Amina Pierce, 30 dead in an apparent murder-suicide at a condominium on 31st Avenue North on Sunday morning after a dispute over divorce and finances led to the fatal shooting plus a revolver was recovered nearby.  NewsChannel 5
  • Clarksville Police arrested 27 year old Ralphale Armstrong—accused of stabbing two people at Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center on Friday shortly before 11 p.m.—after he crashed his car near Rossview Road when his vehicle struck a telephone pole as he fled the scene.  Main Street Clarksville

  • Local music legends from the 60s and 70s reunited on June 14 at Customs House Museum for Rockin’ Clarksville — part of the annual Jammin’ in June fundraiser — and played classic songs in both matinee and evening shows. The shows were filmed for an upcoming documentary.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • More than 100 delegates from Tennessee and Georgia will compete in four pageants at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville on June 27 and 28. Contestants will be judged in activewear, swimsuit, evening gown, and interview segments to crown new titleholders who will later represent their states at national pageants—an event organized by Greenwood Productions.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division displayed their proud history at the 250th U.S. Army Birthday Parade on June 14th in Washington, D.C.   • APSU baseball player Cameron Nickens was named a finalist for the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award by the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation on Friday—he set records this season with a .422 batting average and hit three home runs in one game.   • After a record season filled with strong wins and postseason runs from local high schools, the Clarksville Now All-Area Baseball Team honored top players from Montgomery County — including standouts from Clarksville Academy, Rossview, and Clarksville High. Evan Leonard of Clarksville Academy earned Player of the Year by posting a .401 average, 50 RBIs, and a 0.52 ERA as a two-way player.  ClarksvilleNow.com
