- ➤ Deputy Bubba Johnson 5K — Cornhole Tournament will take place on August 9 at Rossview High School at 1237 Rossview Rd and will feature a Cornhole Tournament starting at 4:00 p.m., a 1 Mile Fun Run at 7:30 p.m. and a 5K race around 8:00 p.m.; teams must register online by midnight on August 6 and fees apply — proceeds benefit families of fallen law enforcement officers. - ➤ United Way of Greater Nashville will gather corporate partners and community volunteers on Tuesday, July 15 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville to fill 15,000 backpacks with school supplies for students across nine counties — a response to rising supply costs that burden families. On Wednesday, July 16, local groups will distribute the supplies to more than 50 schools — helping ensure students have the materials they need to begin the school year ready to learn. - ➤ The Clarksville City Council is voting today on a proposed 2025-26 budget that funds over $170 million for the general fund, includes a 15-cent property tax increase to help with rapid growth and neighborhood flooding, and plans to revitalize Mason Rudolph Golf Course.
