  • Today, the Sundquist Science Complex Greenhouse at Austin Peay welcomes visitors to see Athena, a corpse flower in her first bloom cycle after her move from an incubator—she is expected to draw interest as she blooms for only a couple of days.   • Tennessee lawmakers passed several bills in the 2025 session that improved healthcare access and affordability for low-income patients and rural hospitals.   • Health officials say the new COVID variant NB.1.8.1 is spreading rapidly and is expected to be the second-most common strain—causing symptoms such as a painful sore throat similar to past variants.
