The Salvation Army of Clarksville has opened a cooling center to help those at risk from extreme heat — it gives out water, meals, showers, laundry, and hygiene kits.

The center is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 1 to Aug 1 and is closed on July 4.

State and local law enforcement—Clarksville Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the TWRA—are launching Operation Dry Water today through July 6 to arrest impaired boaters and enforce boating laws.
