Two teen lifeguards—Ethan Hester and Blake Borah—saved a three-year-old girl who nearly drowned at Clarksville Country Club on Tuesday, June 10 by performing CPR until she began breathing and were later honored with Lifesaver Awards by city officials on Thursday, July 1.

Austin Peay State University runs summer coding camps that teach local children video game design and coding—students work on projects using programs like Roblox and Minecraft.

Launched eight years ago, the camps have evolved and registration is still open for several July sessions so kids can learn coding through hands-on activities.

Sue Morris ('09) created the Jacob Benjamin Morris Ramos Endowment Scholarship for Austin Peay State University students to honor her son, Jacob, who died in 2011 while preparing for a chemistry major.
