  • The 117th Annual Lone Oak Picnic will be held on July 26th at the historic Central Civitan Club site in Cunningham — hosted at 275 Highway 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy barbecue, inflatables, a silent auction, a classic car cruise-in, and live music by Back Lot Pickers and the Montgomery Central Marching Band — local officials are expected to greet the crowd.  Clarksville Online

  • The Clarksville Police investigated an identity theft and fraud case from April 30th at U.S. Bank (1 Public Square) where a Black male suspect used a stolen identity to open an account and transfer funds; detectives asked the public for help identifying him.  Clarksville Online

  • Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday weekend will begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 25 and end at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 27 — shoppers can purchase qualifying clothing, school supplies and personal computers tax free with specific restrictions.  WKRN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • City of Clarksville employees delivered over 22,000 Crayola packages — containing crayons, colored pencils, and markers — to the Teacher’s Warehouse on July 9 as part of their annual supply drive that helps local educators get free classroom supplies.  ClarksvilleNow.com
  • Clarksville's CMCSS has shared key details for kindergarten families for the 2025-26 school year. Families must begin online registration and submit required documents in person after offices reopen on July 28—open houses are on August 5, the first half-day is on August 6 followed by flex days from August 11 to 14 and a full day on August 15, with an option for full-time virtual instruction available.  ClarksvilleNow.com
