  • Clarksville’s top news this week examined the hospital ownership history amid plans for a new campus that will add two major doctor groups pending state approval and announced Rep. Mark Green’s final day in Congress is July 20.   • Walmart recalled about 850,000 Ozark Trail 64 oz water bottles on July 10th because the twist-on cap can fly off when the bottle has stored food or drinks — three consumers reported injuries, with two suffering serious eye damage, and shoppers may return the product for a refund.  Clarksville Online

  • Customs House Museum’s F&M Bank Huff & Puff Express Model Train Exhibit in downtown Clarksville offers a miniature circus-themed world with interactive rides and live train shows. The exhibit is open daily and live trains run today from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with additional shows on Wednesdays, Fridays, and the last Saturday of each month.  Clarksville Online

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At Fort Campbell, the Army Medical Readiness Battalion held a change of command ceremony as Lt. Col. Peter M. Doyle took over from Lt. Col. Patrick Glass – who led the unit with dedication. Col. Sam Preston hosted the event as the battalion celebrated past leadership while preparing to keep soldiers medically ready.  Clarksville Online

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday night, the Nashville Sounds beat the Durham Bulls 13-1—taking the series lead with three home runs in the early innings—and key plays from Logan Henderson and Drew Avans helped secure the win. The team will try to win the series finale today at 12:05 p.m. CT at Durham Bulls Athletic Park before the All-Star break.  Clarksville Online
  • Austin Peay State University head men’s golf coach Easton Key signed Jackson Wise from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to the Governors’ 2025-26 roster on Friday. The Pontotoc native helped his team win the 2024 NJCAA DII Men’s Golf National Championship—earning MACCC honors and a top national ranking during his sophomore season.  Clarksville Online
  • Northwest hired former Clarksville Academy coach DeeDee Smith as its new boys basketball coach, and he said the team is gritty, upbeat and determined.
