- ➤ Cheatham Middle School will adopt the Musketeers name for students returning next month after a cease-and-desist letter from the University of Cincinnati forced it to drop the Bearcats identity; over 3,000 votes and alumni donor support helped fund updated signage and new athletic uniforms — some old memorabilia will remain on campus. - ➤ Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announced new principals, seven assistant principals, and three district staff members for the upcoming 2025-26 school year that starts with a half day on Aug. 6. The new leaders include Ashlie Perry, who has served district roles since 2009, and Molly Willis, whose experience will guide Oakland Elementary — both set to open their schools in their new roles. - ➤ Austin Peay State University’s School of Nursing hosted a two-week summer camp for 60 high school students in Clarksville, where they practiced patient care skills such as wound care and CPR — former students from Tennova Healthcare served as mentors. The program doubled in size from last summer and APSU plans to reach more students next summer with support from local partners and an investment from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission — marking a full-circle moment in nursing education.
