Montgomery County approved $2 million to design and build new fairgrounds on Arkadelphia Road while the city finalized a $7 million deal to purchase the speedway for a future recreation complex — a move that comes as a woman was hit by a car on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tennova Healthcare filed objections to new hospital proposals. On Saturday morning, Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a trench collapse at a construction site on Carrillo Drive (crews arrived just before 11 a.m.) and rescued a man stuck in a seven-foot hole (rescued at 12:31 p.m.).

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center will host an Underwater Shark Painting workshop on July 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., where families with children ages 3 and older can create colorful underwater scenes—materials are provided free with museum membership or paid admission.
