- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County will host its Application Preparation Class for the 2026 homeownership program on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Loaves & Fishes—where a free hot meal is served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.—and a Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person. - ➤ The Ellis Family Foundation of Tennessee and Tim and Dena Ellis created the Jerome P. Ellis Memorial Education Endowed Scholarship for Austin Peay State University students with a 3.0 GPA in the APSU Eriksson College of Education—this nonrenewable fund honors Jerome Ellis for his 37 years working in the Robertson County School System. - ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department will turn off water on Tuesday, August 5th at 8:00 a.m. for water valve replacement along Evans Road, Lou Ann Lane, Timber Ridge Road, Dogwood Trail, and Leslie Court—low water pressure is expected until service resumes by about 5:00 p.m. Clarksville Online
- ➤ The City of Clarksville announced that construction on the current phase of the Dunbar Cave Road realignment project is complete — the road is now open for motorists. The work raised the roadway for a future realignment to Cardinal Lane and was finished ahead of the new CMCSS school year. Clarksville Online
- ➤ The Clarksville Gas and Water Department warns residents about phone scams mimicking its automated utility reminders—if unsure, call 931.645.7400—and advises reporting suspicious calls—customers must not share personal or payment details with unknown callers. - ➤ TDOT began pavement repair and pothole patching on SR 12 on August 1 with daily lane closures from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The department will also resurface and improve nearby highways in Montgomery County—motorists are advised to plan ahead and obey reduced speed limits. Clarksville Online
