- ➤ Six Montgomery Countians were chosen from the 41 new leaders in Leadership Middle Tennessee’s Class of 2026—these leaders, including Emily Ellis, Jeremy Hoard, Andrew Kester, Jasmin Linares, Sherry Nicholson and Chris Travis, will join a year-long program to strengthen regional ties, starting with a two-day opening retreat on Aug. 21—22 at YMCA’s Camp Widjiwagan. - ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County will host an Application Preparation Class to help residents learn about the homeownership program on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Loaves & Fishes on Crossland Ave in Clarksville — a free hot meal will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and options for in-person or Zoom attendance with Spanish interpretation are available. - ➤ APSU alumna Jana Fort Hatcher established the Tommy Hatcher Memorial Scholarship Endowment to permanently support full-time criminal justice students with a minimum 2.75 GPA in memory of a dedicated law enforcement officer; the award amounts will depend on the endowment’s value and the university’s spending plan (a lasting tribute to Tommy Hatcher). - ➤ On June 25th, Montgomery County Recovery Court held a graduation ceremony and honored the late Judge Ray Grimes for his leadership in starting the program.
