EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools held their first half day on August 6 with over 40,000 students welcomed by happy staff and parents who shared smiles and new beginnings—district leaders plan to focus on strong basics and fill key staff positions as the school year moves forward.  The Leaf Chronicle
  • Austin Peay State University was named to the FirstGen Forward Network Class of 2025 for its strong support of first-generation college students and for meeting strict benchmarks. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montgomery County plans to spend $2 million on stormwater improvements near Dunlop Lane and Farmington subdivision after recent flooding and sewage issues disrupted the area. The county has hired a civil engineering firm to design a gravity-fed system to carry stormwater to the Red River — they will soon issue a request for proposals and begin construction that is expected to take 8–10 months.  ClarksvilleNow.com
