CRIME NEWS

  • Clarksville Police investigated a shooting Tuesday at Mizu Japanese Cuisine where officers found a man with a gunshot wound and later responded to a report of another injured victim on Cabot Cove—both victims died after their injuries.  NewsChannel 5
  • One person died and two others were flown to Nashville hospitals after a two-vehicle crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday on Memorial Drive near Rushton Lane in Clarksville—police confirmed the crash did not involve high school students.  WSMV 4

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Roxy Regional Theatre announced that Opening Night Rush tickets for Seussical JR. will go on sale at 6:30 p.m. Friday for a $5 donation, with the show running at 7:00 p.m. Friday at 100 Franklin Street—an additional rush event is set for August 22nd. The theatre remains at this location due to construction delays as it kicks off Season 43 with a family-friendly musical based on Dr. Seuss’ works.  Clarksville Online

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The new North Branch Library will open on Saturday, Sept 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 435 Jordan Road — the free event will feature story times, tours, music, games, and food trucks and offer a commemorative library card that marks 131 years of service.  ClarksvilleNow.com

  • Google has partnered with the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition in Clarksville to support veteran employment with a $12,500 investment aimed at job readiness—providing resume help, employer networking and training support that will launch soon.  ClarksvilleNow.com

  • Rossview enters a new era as head coach—Stratie Young—who served as defensive coordinator under Todd Hood and reworked player roles after an 8-3 season; the Hawks will face Springfield, Clarksville, and Kirkwood in a tough three-game opening stretch as rising seniors prepare to fill key roles.
