EDUCATION NEWS

  • Austin Peay State University’s Professional and Workforce Development Center will relaunch its American Sign Language course on Sept. 3 with Christina Walkenhorst as the new instructor. Classes run for 16 sessions from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at APSU with a $149 fee for community members—designed to teach basic signing and Deaf culture.  ClarksvilleNow.com

  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department closed Bagwell Road from Pavilion Way to Sango Road today for water main maintenance—causing low water pressure and possible outages while crews work. HEALTH NEWS

  • Undue Medical Debt has erased $142 million in bills for about 73,000 Tennesseans by sending surprise letters that need no application—major funds came from MacKenzie Scott along with donations from churches and individuals.
