- ➤ Clarksville Police recovered the body of an 11-year-old girl from the Red River on Aug. 17 at around 2:42 p.m.—witnesses said she went underwater near a metal bridge in Billy Dunlop Park, marking the second drowning in months after a 12-year-old boy drowned in May. The Leaf Chronicle

- ➤ Austin Peay State University’s Govs Creative Arts Festival will be held at Downtown Commons on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the free event will have live music, dance, art activities and food from local vendors and is supported by a $21,500 Google Data Center Grant.
