  • The new North Branch Library will open on Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event will feature magic, balloon animals, music, food trucks, and guided tours at 435 Jordan Rd while the nearby animal control facility opens from noon to 3 p.m. with nearly 100 kennels to care for local pets and boost shared community programs.  The Leaf Chronicle

CRIME NEWS

  • A Clarksville police officer, 38-year-old Alan Greenman, was arrested Wednesday night for aggravated domestic assault and kidnapping after he threatened and assaulted a victim, and he was booked into Montgomery County Jail on a $75,000 bond while internal and criminal investigations continue.  WKRN
  • On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., Clarksville police investigated a hit-and-run on the 200 block of Providence Blvd — they found a man unresponsive with vehicle parts nearby, airlifted him to Nashville, and diverted traffic to Walker Drive while his condition remained unknown.  WKRN

  • The IDB is marketing 98 acres at Clarksville Regional Airport for aviation companies needing access to runway+refueling services, hanger space, and other airport facilities.
