  • Governor’s Square Mall, which dedicated a memorial to Medal of Honor recipients earlier this year, will host Kenneth David on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m.—the only living Medal of Honor recipient in the 101st Airborne Division who will later be inducted into its Medal of Honor Rotunda at Fort Campbell.  Clarksville Online
  • Residents remain frustrated as more than a year after the City Council approved a drainage study for Elberta Drive and Love Street no plan has been shared, and an 11-year-old girl was rescued from near the metal bridge at Billy Dunlop Park. Tennova was denied permission to move its planned satellite hospital to Exit 11—while a police officer in uniform faces charges for aggravated domestic assault and town halls featured congressional candidates, discussions on juvenile detention and downtown revitalization with high school offensive lineman Kamari Blair switching his commitment to Tennessee.  ClarksvilleNow.com

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Police reported a multi-vehicle crash shut down westbound lanes on interstate 24 near mile marker 2.9 in Clarksville just before 1 a.m. Saturday and diverted traffic at Exit 4 until the roadway was cleared — injury details remain unknown.  WSMV 4

  • David Kells, chief venues officer for F&M Bank Arena and Bridgestone Arena, joined host Charlie Koon on Clarksville Conversations to discuss a new partnership that will strengthen Clarksville as a market for touring acts.   • The Road to 250 celebration will resume on September 10 at 4:30 p.m. on APSU’s Mabry Stage with a performance on Scientific Developments led by Dr. Phil Kemmerly—guest appearances include Benjamin Franklin, General Geoffrey Weitzel, Albert Einstein and President Franklin D. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department will shut off water on Morningside Drive at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 26th until 10:00 a.m.—residents on nearby Ambrose and Bibb Drives may experience low water pressure. The maintenance is part of the preparation for future valve replacement work and will be detailed in upcoming announcements.  Clarksville Online

  • Northwest High won its season opener Friday night by scoring 570 yards of offense and a final score of 53-13 against Fort Campbell at Trigg County High School in Cadiz, Kentucky—led by strong runs from Demarcus Andrews and Jarvis Everett.
