CULTURE NEWS

  • The PossumStock Music Festival returns Sept. 5-6 on the banks of the Red River in Adams to celebrate 11 years of local music and DIY community spirit. Organizer Cody Parson said the festival will feature local and regional bands with tickets priced at $100 for a weekend pass and $50 for a day pass — the event will be held at Red River Canoe Rental at 8002 US Highway 41.  ClarksvilleNow.com

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In 2024, visitors spent $419.5 million in Montgomery County—a rise of 8.8% over 2023 that brought in $26.7 million in state tax and $16 million in local tax revenue.  ClarksvilleNow.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department will shut off water service at 2015 Needmore Road for water main maintenance — the outage may affect the area near the Needmore Road and Tiny Town Road intersection until service returns by about 6:00 p.m.  Clarksville Online
  • Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett reminded eligible residents that they must register to vote by 11:59 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8 to be eligible for the Oct. 7 Special Primary Election for the District 7 Vacancy in the U.S. House of Representatives—registration can be completed online with GoVoteTN, by mail, or in person using a driver’s license or valid photo ID.  Main Street Clarksville
  • The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has planned water valve maintenance on Walnut Street and nearby areas today at 10:00 a.m. — crews will turn off water service intermittently until 2:00 p.m. and low water pressure is expected on connecting roads as they prepare for future valve replacements.  Clarksville Online

  • Clarksville Academy sophomore running back Jayden Ladner was named Player of the Week after scoring three touchdowns and gaining 60 rushing yards in the Cougars’ 46–0 win over Fort Campbell on August 28—his performance helped lead the team to its best 2–0 start in five years.  ClarksvilleNow.com
