- ➤ APSU’s Division of Alumni, Engagement and Philanthropy welcomed three new team members – Chris Oberholster now leads philanthropy at the Southeastern Grasslands Institute, Susannah Shumate directs philanthropy for Eriksson College of Education, College of Behavioral and Health Sciences and Woodward Library, and Shelly Iosefo becomes a philanthropy specialist with 17 years in the Army. - ➤ Local Ruby-throated hummingbirds frequent feeders as they prepare for a southbound journey to Mexico and Central America—wildlife experts advise using a 1:4 sugar-water mix and cleaning feeders often to keep the birds safe for migration. The Leaf Chronicle

- ➤ The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said there were no boating-related fatalities during the Labor Day weekend from August 29th to September 1st—though three injuries and five property damage incidents were reported statewide. It also reported three boating under the influence arrests and 18 total boating fatalities for the year, two more than last year and two less than at the same time in 2023. Clarksville Online

- ➤ Federal changes and comments from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have led some states to require a prescription for the COVID-19 vaccine for pregnant women, although health experts still say the shot is important to protect mothers and babies. In Tennessee, CVS is giving the vaccine to pregnant people while some pharmacies in other areas use stricter rules - experts warn that COVID-19 can be very dangerous during pregnancy. - ➤ Today, Clarksville received state approval for a Certificate of Need to build two new hospitals by Ascension St. Thomas (a not-for-profit Catholic health system) during a meeting with CEO Fahad Tahir. The health system bought a 96-acre lot at Exit 11 and will plan a master campus that starts with a 44-bed hospital that can expand up to 132 beds with local leadership. Clarksville Online
