- ➤ Pulitzer Prize finalist Rebecca Makkai, the APSU 2025-26 Acuff Chair of Excellence, will host a free writer’s retreat at Haynes House Sanctuary from November 1—5 for APSU students and local community members. - ➤ Today, the Clarksville Gas and Water Department will turn off water service on Fallbrook Lane, Oakland Road, and Priest Street for water valve maintenance from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.—residents in these areas may face low water pressure as work prepares for future valve replacement. - ➤ The 101st Airborne Division unveiled its new ABE 1.01 drone for surveillance, and the unmanned system —assembled at Fort Campbell for $750— is now operational. - ➤ The Industrial Development Board is excavating 160,000 cubic yards of dirt from the stormwater basin on International Boulevard to add capacity and use the material for grading the Office Park — the $2.1 million cost is covered by FedEx and Hankook Tire following February and April floods.
