- ➤ Dr. Edward W. Chester, APSU professor emeritus of biology, established the Senior Airman Gage Dean Chester Agriculture Endowment to honor his grandson who died on July 26 while serving in the Air Force — the endowment will fund two annual scholarships for agriculture students beginning in Fall 2026. - ➤ Several local organizations gathered at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library on Friday to offer an Emergency Resource Fair that connected families, federal employees and veterans to help amid the government shutdown—offering guidance on financial assistance, job placement, food security and veteran services organized by Montgomery and Christian County officials. - ➤ The Clarksville Police Department congratulated Chaplain Curtis Glenn on his promotion to Master Chaplain with the International Conference of Police Chaplains. - ➤ Austin Peay won their home game 41-38 after coming from behind, with quarterback Chris Parson scoring two rushing touchdowns and breaking his season record.
