- ➤ Clarksville Parks and Recreation will open Christmas on the Cumberland on Nov. 22 at McGregor Park with a Holiday Market starting at 2 p.m., horse carriage rides, and live entertainment leading to a grand opening ceremony at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., Mayor Joe Pitts will flip the switch to illuminate the park and Riverwalk before a 15-minute drone show featuring 200 drones begins — weather permitting. - ➤ The Austin Peay College of STEM has named Dr. Chris Gentry as its first professionalized Associate Dean, effective Jan. 1, 2026, to focus on student enrollment, curriculum, and faculty support. Gentry, who has served as department chair since 2022 and has held key administrative roles — including directing Undergraduate Research — will now oversee college operations full time. - ➤ Clarksville's Dunn Center at Austin Peay is set to host the 2025 NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship from today until November 22—one of the nation's premier junior college tournaments. - ➤ Austin Peay State University graduate offensive lineman Chandler Kirton, who served as team captain for two seasons and set a program record with 46 straight game starts, was named finalist for the 2025 Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award by Stats Perform—he earned high academic honors and volunteered in study hall programs. - ➤ Austin Peay State University head women's basketball coach Brittany Young announced four National Early Signing Day recruits on Monday — Brilee Price, Franziska Kelly, Jasia Ross, and Andrea Guilford have strong high school records in scoring and rebounding.
