Clarksville leaders are considering a plan that would use federal HUD funds to buy a quadplex (appraised at $680,000) in northeast Clarksville for temporary housing for students facing homelessness; the Irene Center for Hope will manage the property (and offer job training and support to parents) if the measure passes in August.
Downtown Clarksville gained a major boost when the Millan Public Parking Garage opened on Friday at 1 p.m. at 90 College St next to F&M Bank Arena; the five-level facility offers over 500 parking spaces, 16 electric vehicle charging stations, and reversible lanes, and it was built through a public-private partnership that saved $2 million.
Nearly 180 new laws will take effect in Tennessee on July 1 that address issues such as reproductive health, immigration, retail crime and artificial intelligence.
The bills will protect access to fertility treatment, impose tougher penalties on retail crime and tighten immigration enforcement — measures state lawmakers say will reshape legal processes statewide — while also restricting international health mandates and offering tax credits for nuclear energy.

He brings nearly 30 years of public safety experience — including 28 years at Clarksville Fire Rescue — to strengthen our emergency response and community safety.
APSU Athletics will host the Victory Fund Golf Tournament on August 8th at 8:00am at Clarksville Country Club.
Supporters can join a full day of golf and lunch—meeting student-athletes and coaches while boosting the athletics program’s revenue-sharing and NIL opportunities.
