A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol

About this event

Roxy Regional Theatre presents...

[Season 44]

It's Christmas Eve, 1943, and the Feddington Players are now broadcasting from a hole-in-the-wall studio in Newark, NJ, and set to present their contemporary "take" on Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Whether it's the noisy plumbing, missed cues, electrical blackouts, or the over-the-top theatrics of veteran actor – but radio novice – William St. Claire, this festive crowd-pleaser is an entertaining excursion into the mayhem and madness of a live radio show. St. Claire's escalating foibles and acting missteps propel the show to a simultaneously comedic and heart-wrenching dramatic climax: St. Claire has an on-air breakdown, and begins to connect his own life with that of the classic Dickens tale.

By Walton Jones , David Wohl and Faye Greenberg

Please note: As construction of the new Clarksville Performing Arts Center (CPAC) is slated to begin later this year, A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol will be presented in the Roxy Regional Theatre's temporary home at 114 Public Square.

Seating will begin a half hour prior to the performance. All performances will begin promptly at the time listed in your order confirmation. We recommend arriving at the theatre no later than 15 minutes prior to the performance to allow time for parking, purchasing concessions, finding your seat, etc. If you arrive after the show has begun, we unfortunately will be unable to seat you due to the setup of our venue. While we cannot issue refunds, our staff will do our best to try and reschedule your tickets for another performance date, although there is no guarantee this will be possible.
